Alan Richardson is Professor and Distinguished University Scholar in the Department of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia. He is also a faculty member in the Science and Technology Studies Graduate Program at UBC.
At UBC he has served as Program Director for Science and Technology Studies, as Department Head of the Department of Philosophy, as Senator, and as President of the Faculty Association.
He is a past President of the International Society for the History of Philosophy of Science and of the Canadian Society for History and Philosophy of Science and has served on the Board of Governors of the Philosophy of Science Association.
He is editor with Lydia Patton (Philosophy, Virginia Tech) and Catherine Kendig (Philosophy, Michigan State) of the series History of Philosophy and Science for DeGruyter Press
He serves on the editorial board of The Collected Works of Rudolf Carnap and of the journals, Philosophy of Science, Studies in History and Philosophy of Science, and HOPOS.
